Terms & Conditions of Membership

GENERAL

  1. Sheen Lawn Tennis & Squash Club (“The Club”) is a not-for-profit members’ club with Community Amateur Sports Club status which has the principal objective of providing Tennis, Squash, other racquet sports, and social facilities to Members and their guests in the area of East Sheen.
  2. The Club is run by a Managing Committee elected by the membership or nominated from elected Sectional Committees concerned with tennis, squash, bar, and social matters. The Club occupies premises which are owned by Sheen Lawn Tennis & Squash Club Limited, a non-profit making private company with limited liability (“The Company”) which is controlled on behalf of Club Members collectively by an asset holding Trust.
  3. The Club’s Constitution here Constitution sets out The Rules and Byelaws which govern The Club. These constitute the terms of the mutual contract which each Member enters into with other Members. They are legally binding on all Members and on all Applicants for Membership as a condition of membership.
  4. The Club’s Privacy Policy applies to all Members and users of The Club and the current version can be found here Privacy Policy.
  5. Members are also required to comply with the Club’s general Policies as published from time to time, the current details of which can be found here Byelaws.
  6. Members have a duty of care towards other Members and users at all times that they are on Club Premises.

 

MEMBERSHIP

  1. Membership of The Club is open to all persons over the age of 4.
  2. The Club reserves the right under its Rules to refuse admission; to terminate membership; or otherwise to sanction in accordance with its Disciplinary Policy if a member has has breached Club Rules or caused nuisance, annoyance, or offence.
  3. The Club deems it to be a condition of continuing Membership or by making Application for Membership that a Member has expressly agreed to the Health Decaration and Waiver of Liability below.
  4. Members who apply for Membership on behalf of their children/wards who are under the age of 18 expressly agree to accept responsibility for them in accordance with the Parent/Guardian Declaration below.

 

HEALTH DECLARATION (ADULTS ONLY)

I/we declare that I/we have no health conditions that may affect my/our ability to take part in any activities on the Club’s Premises. If I/we have or develop during my/our membership any such health condition I/we confirm that I/we have or will consult a competent medical practitioner prior to using The Club’s facilities and services.

 

WAIVER OF LIABILITY

I/we recognise as a Member of The Club or as a condition of this my/our Application for Membership that the playing of tennis and squash or other racquet sports may involve strenuous physical exertion. Furthermore I/we recognise that such activities may have inherent risk of personal injury.

I/we confirm that I/we am in good health and do not suffer from any medical condition that would prevent my/our participation in such activites at The Club. I/we further agree to inform The Club by email subs@sheenltsc.co.uk before using Club Facilities should my medical condition change in such a manner that further participation in activities at The Club might be significantly detrimental to my/our health.

I/we hereby acknowledge that I/we undertake activities on the Club’s Premises entirely at my own risk. I/we waive and relinquish all and any claims I/we may have in respect of personal injury, death, or damage to my personal property which may be suffered by me/us as a consequence of my/our participation in any activity at the Club’s Premises.

I/we hereby release The Club; The Company; any Club or Company Official, Director, Volunteer, Employee, or Contractor; or any Club Member from all liability for any such personal injury, death, or damage to my personal property to the fullest extent permitted by the Law of England & Wales.

 

PARENT/GUARDIAN DECLARATION FOR APPLICANTS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE

In making this Application for Renewal of or Application for Membership on behalf of my child/ward I agree to them participating in the general activities of The Club. I have explained to them and they have agreed to follow the junior regulations of The Club here Youth Tennis Regulations, and I agree to accept and comply with the Code of Practice for Parents & Guardians here Code of Practice. I have read and accept the Club's Safeguarding policy here Safeguarding Policy.

To my knowledge, they have no special care needs, dietary requirements, allergies or medical conditions that could affect their personal safety at the Club. Should this not be the case please do not proceed with this Renewal or Application but instead contact The Club by email subs@sheenltsc.co.uk .

I understand that in the event of any injury, illness or other medical need, reasonable steps will be taken to contact me, and to deal with the situation appropriately. However, I understand that The Club is not a staffed and supervised venue and I expressly accept that my child/ward visits Club Premises entirely at my own risk.

I undertake to inform The Club promptly by email to subs@sheenltsc.co.uk should any information which I have provided in this Declaration changes.
